With polished concrete flooring, we really believe that you get the best of both worlds. You are getting floors that are going to be tough and durable. Since at the end of the day it is still concrete what is underneath. Plus, you are getting all of these different design possibilities that are hard to obtain with other types of floors. We want to go through some of the myths that are out there. When it comes to these types of floors. Hopefully, we will be able to give you a better idea of how it is that we actually work!
Can We Polish Any Concrete Floors?
If you have concrete floors that you want us to polish the only real reason that we would say, no to the project would be if the floor was just too beat up so to speak. That is kind of a worst case scenario type of deal. Which is really not what we usually get. Before we actually get to placing the final covering which is going to give the floor its “polished” look we do a lot of prep work that includes filling in a lot of the small cracks that we may find.
Total Design Freedom
One of the best things about these types of floors is the fact that you really get a lot of options and opportunities when it comes to the design and colors. If you were looking at flooring catalogs before you got to this page you could just go ahead and throw them out! You will be able to choose the exact color that you want your floors to have. We can add plenty of different types of crushed rocks and things of that nature that are really going to give you a unique design.
Would You Recommend New Floors or Retrofitting Existing Ones?
This really depends on the state of the current floors. As we mentioned before we are going to go through a restoration process if you will when we are working on existing floors. A lot of people think that they may be saving some money while retrofitting floors, and that may not exactly be the case especially if you are talking about having major renovations done. That being said we can always remove the existing floors and start all over. So we want to revise a little bit what we said about not taking the project. We may not always be able to use existing floors, but we can always take on the project.
Are They Really Low-Maintenance?
People always point to polished concrete floors as low maintenance. They would be right to do so! As long as you keep the floors on a relatively recurring cleaning schedule than you will be fine for a lot of years. The only thing that you would need to watch out for would be putting too much weight on them. In normal homes and things like that, that really should not be a major problem!
