If you are relatively new to the concrete scene you may not be too familar with self-leveling concrete. We don’t want to mislead anyone around here to think that this is a new concept. It has actually been around since the late 70’s early 80’s. That being said, in the last few years we do have to admit that it has garnered a whole lot more notoriety. We use it for a number of reasons. Which we think, make it fair to say that this particular type of concrete happens to be a great option for many different types of projects.
We Will Not Need To Use A Lot Of Water
While we can’t expect to just pour the concrete and have it just perfectly fall into place like you may expect from something that they call self-leveling we do get the chance to use less water when we are pouring it. The concrete itself becomes a lot easier to maneuver without having to “keep it as fresh”. Which allows us to get more work done instead of being too overly worried about having to continue to mix it up or anything like that.
Giving You That Smooth Finish That You Were Looking For
One of the main reasons that this type of concrete has happened to become so popular in the last few years is the fact that it can really give you a smooth finish while putting in less work. Does that mean that we are going to be working less time on your property? We want to say yes, but that is not always the case. What we have to admit though is that a lot of times even for professionals making sure that the concrete is ultra smooth can be difficult. If you are using a special concrete that makes the process easier you are more likely to have better results!
Great For Using A Base Substance For Tile or Vinyl Floors
If you have read through different areas of the site you know that we usually don’t talk about other types of floors that are not concrete floors. That being said, this type of concrete really help as a base if you want to put in tile or vinyl floors. The fact that it can give you a smooth finish while you are using less water is huge. Especially when we take into account that a lot of the major problems that these floors tend to have come from excessive moisture!
A lot of people want to have all of their projects finished quickly With concrete we still have to make sure that the concrete dries out before we can call it completely finished. When we pour this type of concrete we can typically expect it to dry overnight. For us, that is a very decent time frame because it allows us to have a reasonable amount of time if we want to stamp or try other types of design methods.
